Columbiana – Virginia Pancake, 101, of Columbiana passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025.
Virginia was born in Beaver Falls PA on September 24, 1923, the daughter of immigrants from Romania and Hungary, the late Michael and Anna Popa Simplican.
Virginia moved to Rogers where they owned a strawberry farm until she moved to Columbiana, which would become her forever home. She was employed at Crawford's Market, Drotleff Golden Dawn and Cucina Pizza. It is there she became a friend to the community she loved. She enjoyed gospel music, hymns and Gaither music. Jesus was her lord and savior, often teaching and spreading the word of the gospel. Her favorite Bible verse was Psalm 121. Virginia was not only a servant to the Lord, but she was also a servant to her family. Self-sacrificing, she was always there, ready to help, work and contribute to whatever they needed.
