COLUMBIANA – Edward Michael Holisky, 81, of Columbiana, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, June 17, 2024, at his home.
Ed was born on November 11, 1942, in Leetonia, a son of George and Mary Grunick Holisky. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1961 and married the former Karen Wilhelm on June 8, 1968. He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima and had previously been a parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church and a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, both in Columbiana. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was an integral part of American Legion Post 290 in Columbiana, where he served as trustee and participated as part of the honor guard in numerous parades and funerals. Ed worked as the Head of Facilities Maintenance at YSU for 25 years. He tended to his vegetable garden, traveling with his family, and was very lucky at casinos. Ed loved 'Jeeping,' and going four wheeling and off-roading.
